Welcome to LVL-USA
For the last four years LVL has been designing and manufacturing new exterior electrical products. The design concept is simple, create products that are easy to operate, functional, attractive, and made of the best materials available which can withstand today’s environmental issues.
LVL has designed a new and innovative exterior outlet that replaces exterior flush mounted outlets. The product was invented based on the numerus requests we received from our architectural clients and electricians who were looking for an alternative to exterior flush mounted electrical boxes required by the 2020 NEC housing code for every new home built in the US.
The LVL outlet is UL and CSA approved under UL 50 and UL 231 verses UL 541D. This new and innovative design was UL approved as of June 20, 2023, the outlet’s US Patent was issued on July 25, 2023. In addition, the outlet also complies with all NEC and UL certifications as an above ground junction box due to its NEMA type 4 X rating.
There is a link in the first photo above to see a video of the outlet and a cutsheet in the second photo showing the specifications and dimensions.
We are hoping to build a network of local wholesale partners in 20 specified states to represent our product. Based on our research, the best potential for growth in the US is based in the States that are growing the fastest by population, the highest number of housing starts, and individual cities with average home values of $400,000 to $500,000. We feel that these criteria will prove to be a basis for success with the pending US housing shortage.
All exterior products have been tested for a minimum of 18-24 months in the field.
Why is this new outlet a superior alternative to the present industry standard of a flush mounted exterior wall mounted outlet?
History of the NEC rules and regulations regarding exterior outlets.
Before 2011 exterior outlet boxes were required to have covers that only protect the outlet. In 2011 the NEC changed the code to specify the that the outlet covers had to protect the outlet by having an “in use” cover. In 2014 the NEC changed and expanded the code. Any exterior receptacle used in wet locations must have “in use” covers, under UL 541D.
In 2020 The NEC greatly expanded the regulations regarding outdoor receptacles.
- Every new home must have at least one exterior outdoor receptacle at the front and one at the rear of the house with a GFCI /W outdoor receptacle with a waterproof “in use cover”.
- Receptacles in damp locations, including attached decks and interior accessible balconies must have an exterior receptacle.
- A permanent swimming pool or spa must have access to an electrical receptacle that is no closer than 6 feet and no further than 20 feet from the edge of the pool in a weatherproof “in-use” cover.
What is the potential sales volume for this new product?
From 2020 to 2024 the average number of housing starts for new homes in the US were approximately 1,478,000 units.
We have identified 20 states that we estimate will generate 350,000 new homes that fit into our target market. The estimated sales price for these 350,00 new homes will be in excess of $350,000.
Our assumptions are based on information from the US Government and our network of architects. We anticipate that at least thirty five percent (35%) of those homes will use our outlets and that ten percent (10%) of them will have either a swimming pool or an attached deck, which means that each of these new homes will purchase a minimum of four (4) outlets for a total of approximately 460,000 outlets. In addition to the actual outlet the purchaser will also need to purchase a metal exterior Raco electrical box, a metal GFCI outlet cover, plus the pedestal and support post, which is also used with our exterior walkway lamps.
If you are interested in representing our product and you have a wholesale location in any one of our 20 target states, we would be interested in discussing a long-term partnership. In exchange for a long-term relationship, we are prepared to provide you with the marketing of our new outlet to our network of primary clients within a 20-mile radius of each of your wholesale locations to maximize and achieve our marketing goals. With a local distributor our clients have a much higher comfort level purchasing new products from their local distributor.
